The rubber used in the Swampthing is firm enough that knobs won’t fold, yet soft enough to hook up on wet rocks and roots. The rounded profile allows the Swampthing to hook up without digging into the soil.
Loose soil to deep mud downhill tyre for front and rear.
Cleated knob design digs deep to allow optimal cornering, braking, and acceleration.
2-ply DH casings with butyl-protected sidewalls.
“Maxxis are a wicked company to work with. They listen to riders and develop tyres directly from rider feedback. They definitely helped me win some races.”
-Steve Peat
Dual Ply Sidewalls! Two 60 tpi (threads per inch) casings vulcanized with butyl rubber reinforced sidewalls construct Maxxis dual play downhill casings, which are world renowned for performance and reliability.
Compounds! 42a SuperTacky or 60a MaxxPro - SuperTacky tyres are much softer to provide superior grip although they are less durable than the MaxxPro. The MaxxPro compound does not provide as much grip as the SuperTacky however durability is much greater. SuperTacky tyres are a must for thorough bred racers come race day and MaxxPro is the best option for 'fit and forget' weekend warriors.
